Maury Garten is a Director and Shareholder of the Firm.  Maury advises clients in Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Corporate Law, Real Estate Law and Taxation. As part of his areas of practice, Maury frequently counsels families with issues related to the transfer of wealth, which can include both taxation and family challenges.

Maury also advises a number of local businesses on succession planning, employment, real estate and corporate law matters and has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Prior to arriving at Fedder and Garten Professional Association in 1996, Maury was a Banking Officer for Maryland National Bank in the areas of consumer and commercial lending.

Throughout his life, Maury has volunteered for numerous civic and religious organizations for which he has received several awards.

Presently Maury serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Baltimore and Past-President of the Klehr Center for Jewish Life at Franklin and Marshall College.

As part of his extensive background in estate planning and administration, Maury has also served as a volunteer on Planned Giving issues for Kennedy Krieger Institute, McDonogh School, and the Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.

Previously, Maury has volunteered his time in several organizations including serving as President, Franklin and Marshall College Alumni Association; Chairman, Young Adult Division of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore; Co-Chair, Annual Fund, McDonogh School; Secretary and Member of the Board of Directors of Etz Chaim Center, Inc.; and Treasurer, Civil Justice.
